Belen shares her personal experience with the Amazon rainforest and its sacred headwaters, and her vision for the future of the Amazon. She also speaks about the wisdom and tradition of the Indigenous people of the Amazon, including the healing power of Medicinal Plants and the importance of dreaming.

Maria Belén Páez

Belén Páez is an Ecuadorian ecologist with a master's degree from the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía, Spain, in ecosystem approaches for managing the natural environment. She is a specialist in Climate Change, the Amazon and the rights of indigenous peoples. Currently she is Director at Fundación Pachamama, created to protect the Amazon and promote the rights and livelihoods of Indigenous peoples.
