Doula, Founder and CEO, Homeland Heart Birth & Wellness Collective Kristin Mejia, B.A., CLC (she/her), founder of Homeland Heart Birth & Wellness Collective in Nashville, TN, has been devoted to the improvement of Black Maternal and infant wellness for 5 years. She is a birth + postpartum doula, Doula trainer, and Certified Lactation Consultant. Kristin has spoken on numerous Maternal Health panels regarding the importance of increased representation in the industry of birth work.

Kristin Mejia, B.A., CLC (she/her), founder of Homeland Heart Birth & Wellness Collective in Nashville, TN, has been devoted to the improvement of Black Maternal and infant wellness for 5 years. She is a birth + postpartum doula, Doula trainer, and Certified Lactation Consultant. Kristin has spoken on numerous Maternal Health panels regarding the importance of increased representation in the industry of birth work. Her non-profit has recently been invited to assist in research and data collection to improve birth and breastfeeding outcomes in the African American community.
In addition to leading the city’s first community-based doula program at Homeland Heart, she is the owner of exBREASTyourself Festival Pumping Suites, a company that offers luxurious privacy and storage for nursing moms at outdoor events.
Kristin is a Mom of two beautiful children, ages 7 and 3. She is a native of Compton, CA with a BA in foreign languages and literatures from The University of Memphis. She currently resides in Gallatin, TN where she spends her free time in her backyard garden!
